At last the big day arrived. The opening of Just Ideas...curated by local artist Clinton Cross
Clinton had invited over 50 artists from across Australia and overseas to take part in the exhibition. He had sent them all a canvas board 5 cm x 7 cm to paint or develop in their own way. There was ultimately some variation by the artists, but that was accepted.
This has resulted in a fascinating exhibition that showcases the diversity of talent of the artists involved. There were a few sales which was encouraging.
Darren Hanlon, a touring singer/musician graciously performed for the exhibition attendees and was warmly received. He managed to sell quite a few cd's thanks to the maketing skills of some of our
supporters.
The Writer's Club performed an amazing presentation of poetic works that revealed the depth of talent in that group. They were outstanding! The white canvas in the picture was for their poetry to be written on.
The next thing on the agenda is Clinton's artist's talk, which should be fascinating! Don't miss it on Sunday 11th December at 11am at Dirty Linen. I'm sure you will have lots of questions for Clinton.
Gallery hours are Wednesday to Sunday 11 - 5pm. Or by appointment. Phone 0402403270
Artists are reminded to book early for their exhibitions next year. Hire rates and other information is available on this site. Look for the permanent pages on the right of the screen of the Dirty Linen blog site..
